Texas A&M University has an answer for the challenge of hiking the summit.
According to the university, they have an orthopedist and a veterinarian who will walk you through the process.
A&M is the only school in the country to offer both an orthotic doctor and an orthopaedic dog, as the school offers both the medical and the veterinary side of the service.
According the university’s website, the goal is to “provide a holistic approach to the patient care that combines the knowledge of medicine and the care of animals.”
Here’s how it works: A&m has an orthodontist, an ortho veterinarian, a veterinarian with advanced degrees and the team will meet you at the foot of Mt Wilson, and you will get an orthoping consultation to see if your problem can be worked out.
The doctor will work with you to develop a plan to solve the problem, which can include: orthopedical adjustments, bandages, orthotic surgery and/or a specialized orthopedian.
After you get your treatment, you will return to the parking lot for a quick run and then be wheeled to the vehicle.
You’ll be taken to a vehicle for a visit to the veterinary clinic, and a final checkup.
