The Dallas Cowboys’ Vail Summit team is looking for a new orthopedists to join the team, as they look to replace injured All-Pro linebacker Jonathan Vilma.
Veteran assistant Matt Whelan, who served as the team’s orthopedisis specialist, has agreed to become an orthopediast with the Dallas Cowboys.
Whelan’s signing with the Cowboys was announced Friday.
Willett, who was the Cowboys’ director of athletic performance research for nearly six years, is a graduate of the University of Texas and played four seasons for the Houston Texans.
He also spent time with the Cleveland Browns, Philadelphia Eagles and Cincinnati Bengals.
