A desert orthodist has died after being attacked by a mountain lion in California.
The Los Angeles Times reports David W. Kestenbaum, 62, died of his injuries at a hospital.
He was attacked by mountain lions in the Sierra Nevada Mountains on Thursday.
He worked for the Desert Orthopedic Center in Los Angeles for 27 years.
His daughter, Sharon Kestensbaum, told the Los Angeles Time that Kestening was a longtime member of the organization and was dedicated to saving lives.
He was a member of Desert Orthopaedic Center, where he was a pioneer in the field.
It’s a special place for us, he said.
He dedicated his life to the practice of orthopedism and to his family and loved ones.
We’re so saddened by this tragedy, Sharon said.
We are asking that all Californians please stay home from the area and refrain from using hiking trails, outdoor recreation and other outdoor activities until further notice.
