AUSTIN (AP) The state of Texas announced Wednesday it is the winner of the $600 billion AZA project.
Greg Abbott said in a news release that the state will receive a $600 million loan for the project that will allow it to build and operate a hospital, a state hospital, and other medical and surgical facilities.
The $600bn project, called AZA-100, is a joint effort between Texas and the U.S. Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ).
The goal is to provide high-quality, affordable healthcare in Texas for the region.
Texas will provide $300 million to the project through the state’s health and human services department, the state Department of State Health Services and the Texas Hospital Association.
